Problem
In today's complex financial landscape, navigating the world of investments can be a daunting task, especially for those new to the market. With endless investment options and strategies, individuals often find themselves overwhelmed, unsure of where to allocate their money. Recognising this challenge, the mission was to simplify the investment journey through an app called WAVE.
WAVE is a personalised investment guide that empowers individuals to make informed financial decisions. By understanding their unique risk tolerance and ethical preferences, WAVE offers tailored investment recommendations, helping users ride the tide of the market with confidence.
'67% of UK investors said sustainable investing was important to them – and were willing to hold sustainable investments for two years longer than the average investor'
Branding
Starting with a simple brand identity that effectively communicates its unique value proposition: personalised investment tailored to investor values. The brand needed to be both bold and approachable, to resonate with all investor types while also conveying a sense of trust and accessibility.
Brand in Action
Understanding how the brand would fit into the real world was important to create a consistent style across all platforms of communication. Always aiming to fit the key brand values; be bold, be simple, be conscious!
Wireframes
Creating wireframes helped understand how to effectively place and group features in a logical and intuitive manner. It also helped refine the initial user journey so the user can get straight into the app once their investor type has been chosen.
App Screens
Guided by the brand identity, I translated the user flows into visually appealing and intuitive app screens. Putting focus on an engaging onboarding journey, intuitive hub navigation and clear data visualisation.
Prototype
The final high-fidelity prototype gave a better understanding of how animations and micro interaction could work to keep the app fresh and bold.
This video walks through the onboarding user journey from phone home screen to the app hub.

Project Outcome
This project gave me great experience creating a mobile centric design. The iterative design process resulted in an app that is intuitive, easy to use, and a pleasure to interact with.
As I continue to work on this project, I will go into greater detail for the user journey within the app hub to ensure that it has the same engagement as the onboarding journey.
